The Geometric Headband is a simple, pretty headband.  This is a free crochet pattern on my blog.  The pattern uses simple crochet stitches in a unique way to make a comfortable headband that isn’t constricting on your head. Perfect for hot, summer days when you want your hair out of your face!

I called it the Geometric Headband because it has a square pattern all around the edges. I don’t know how geometric it really is but it was the first name that came to mind!

This is a great pattern for a confident beginner.  You will learn some new skills but it is still a small and easy pattern to follow. This pattern has been tech edited and tested.

Notes

This pattern is written in US terminology.

The headband is slightly stretchy. The length referenced above does not account for extra stretch.

Slip stitch to first stitch of each round to join.

The number in brackets at the end of each round [i.e. (120 sc)] is the number of stitches you have made.

If you want to make a smaller or larger headband start with less or more chains at the beginning in an odd number and then follow the pattern as written.

If you are unsure of your head size either measure your head first or once you have chained your starting chains wrap them around your head and see if they join at the nape of your neck.

Save this pattern as a pin for later:

How to make your Headband

Round 1 (RS): Ch 61, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, rotate to work other side of chain, sc in each across, join (120 sc).

Round 2: Ch 2 (doesn’t count as st), hdc in same, hdc in next, ch 1, skip 1 *hdc in next 2, ch 1, skip 1; repeat from* around, join (80 hdc and 40 ch-1 sps).

Fasten off leaving long tail for sewing. With long tail sew ends together, weave in ends. You now have a crocheted Geometric Headband! Enjoy wearing it and thank you for choosing my pattern!
