8” height, 8.2” width

16 sc and 18 rows = 4”

This pattern is written in US terminology.

Beginning ch-1 does NOT count as stitch.

After each section is done, fasten off, turn the work counter-clockwise 90 degrees and join the new color to the left-hand corner of the section.

For every row, the first sc should be in the first st.

When working down the side of a section make 1 sc for every row. Insert your hook into the open spaces made by the ch-1 turning spaces.

Each section is made up of 10 rows of sc.

The number in brackets at the end of each round [i.e. (6 sc)] is the number of stitches you have made.

This pattern shows you how to make a basic Log Cabin Square. To make the square bigger add more sections in the same way using these instructions.

When finished, block the square to dimensions listed above.

Join Log Cabin Squares into a blanket using your preferred joining method.

Color Key: Color A = Green, Color B = Red, Color C = Purple, Color D = Yellow, Color E = Blue
